Goodday Moon

I'm concerned that my 3-year-old twins may struggle in school. When their science teacher tells them that the moon comes out at night to illuminate our planet and pull the tides this way and that, I'm fairly certain my girls will stand and argue, "LIES! We know perfectly well that it appears in broad daylight to watch over the mountain tops."

The instructor will then watch in horror as my daughters organize an immediate coup, leading their classmates in a march across the desks and out the door to go play under the light of the midday moon.

1:30 in the afternoon

Dinner last night: spare ribs, crispy potatoes, salad

Beautiful picture! My 3 year old is obsessed with the moon. He loves to talk about the different phases :-)

Uh-oh!! Well, it is kinda true...if you can see the moon in the middle of the day, the teacher's point really has no merit!

My kids are always amazed too when they can see the moon when it's daylight. It confuses them. Maybe we should convince our kids that when the moon is out during the day, it means they should be sleeping.

Oh and my counters are not usually that clean. I just happened to have just cleaned up from lunch when Bella climbed on the counter!

So funny. I'm still having trouble convincing my kids that the stars don't just "disappear" during the day.

That is a gorgeous photo - look at the colour of that sky :o)

My son always used to yell "moon moon" whenever he saw it. Quite distracting when you are driving :S

We talk about how the moon should be having a nap when we see it during the day. I wonder how that will go over in science class.

I'm just impressed that it's not dark in that picture. Everything I know about Alaska is from that show Northern Exposure. They make it sound like it's pitch black 24 hours a day for six months.

Does that irritate you as much as it does me when people assume that living in Texas is like the show Dallas?

M-The long days of summer make up for the long days of darkness. Sorta.

I remember when I was about 6 years old and I saw the moon in the middle of the afternoon. I was so confused.

And...um...is the sky supposed to be that color?
