I will now re-enact my response to finding out that I am today’s featured blogger at SITS (The Secret to Success is Support).
Visitors are coming! Hurry up!
Clean the family room! Wash your faces! They’ll be here any second . . .
Clean the family room! Wash your faces! They’ll be here any second . . .
My name is Kim, and I'd like to introduce you to
savages lovely and refined daughters.
This girl is 12 and plays competitive soccer, . . .
this kid is 10 and won't stay out of trees, . . .
and these chuckleheads are 4 years old.
Cable TV is unavailable where we live,
so a pair of identical twins comes in handy when we need to be entertained.
Alaska, . . .
along with our beagle, Daisy, . . .
our mouse-murdering cat, Tie-Dye, . . .
and the many moose that run through our back yard. Git! Shoo! No, not you, gentle readers. I was yelling at the moose. Don't let their cute babies fool you.
Git out of here, you skinny-legged twig eater!
I don’t know how to describe my blog, other than to say that I write a little of this and that, and post lots of pictures of . . .
Wildlife, . . .
. . . wildflowers . . .
. . . and wild-haired children.
Thanks for stopping by. If you don't come back again real soon, I could get so lonely I might wander out into a snowbank and die. And it would be all your fault.

I've always wanted to visit Alaska! I had an uncle that lived there most of my childhood & I love to hear stories of his time there. I love your photography! It really gives a beautiful picture of how amazing Alaska is! Congrats on your SITS day!
Oh my GOSH what amazing photos! Stopping in from SITS and I will be back! I cannot BELIEVE you have Moose just running through your yard! I'm so jealous!
OMGosh! This is one of the best SITS featured blogger posts I've seen in a long time. LOVE it! Congrats on you big day. =)
Happy SITS day. Looks like a wonderful life.
oh my gosh, your pictures are unbelievable!! i've only seen a moose close up once, driving down the road while camping and we couldn't imagine why the car in front of us was stopped-we quickly realized why and the moose was huge! i never realized how big they really were!
i have 4 girls too-my 10 year old is the soccer player (and basketball and lacrosse).
nice to meet you!
forgot to say-congrats on your SITS day-enjoy!
I'm here from SITS and I'm so glad I stopped by. I love when humor comes from unexpected places. Like pictures of eagles:)
This was cool. Congratulations on your day. I loved all the pictures and your captions that went with them.
I believe you when you say mooses are pests, but I still want to see one. There was one wandering about up here (northern WI) but alas, I never ran into it.
Happy SITS Day! Enjoy the comment love today.
p.s. My spell checker disagrees with my plural of moose. What is the plural of moose?
Happy SITS Day! Loved your welcome post esp the end! You got me hook line and sinker...although your pictures were good bait too! Following!

Kim, I am in love with you and Alaska - instantly. I'm stopping by from SITS but plan to stay awhile.
Happy Sits day!
Your photography is breathtaking! I'm amazed at the picture of the moose walking through your yard!
Happy SITS Day! I remember reading about your intrusive moose! Great welcoming post for the SITS girls--and Tiedye looks like persistent beast! One of those Alaskan forest cats!
Congrats on your FB day on SITS! Absolutely love your photos!
Your girls are BEAUTIFUL and so is Alaska! Congrats on your SITS day mama!!
woo hoo, you hit the big time! I can say I knew you when.
Thanks for sharing all the great photos. And I thought my 2 year old had crazy bed head!!
You seem to set a very down to earth tone here on your blog. I like it. :) Congrats on being featured today!!
In regards to your tree climber...it must be the age. When my daughter was 10-11 (she's now 15), I would find her at the very tiptop of the trees in our yard (scary), but I think she has outgrown tree climbing for now.
Happy SITS Day!
Happy SITS day, I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your blog!
Happy SITS Day! Great blog! Adorable kids! My aunt used to live in Alaska. It must be quite an experience!
Congrats on your SITS day! I don't think of myself as a real blogger either lol! BUT it is fun huh!
I've visited with you before! That is so cool that it is your SITS day! My son loves the moose pic out your window!
Glad that SITS pointed me your way - gorgeous photography and a healthy dose of humor, what's not to like? Wishing you all good things - with double the number of girls that I have around here, I stand in awe...
Happy SITS day! I like your spunky blog and your girls are adorable! Love the photos too!
What area of AK do you live in? The husband is Coast Guard and we just moved to Kodiak and absolutely LOVE it! Found you through SITS! Glad to see I'm not the only Alaskan Mommy Blogger out there!
Happy SITS day. Love the photos!
You are such a HOOT! I love your sense of humor and your photos are amazing! I especially love the ones of the Moose in your yard.
I grew up in Colorado where we'd be awoken by a herd of 300 Elk tromping past our windows....brings back such memories.
Happy SITS day! Looks like a lovely blog!
Happy SITS Day!!!
My husband and I went to Alaska for our honeymoon and I absolutely fell in love with it... But I can't talk him into leaving Southern California... haha
Your girls are all gorgeous...
You take the best pictures!
Happy SITS Day!!!! Your girls are cute. So jealous you have a beagle. Love wild haired wake up look - that may be my favorite look for my 4 year old.
Love your blog I would say I am kind of new to blogging... I love your post and your blog. It was very cool that you add your picture and the rundown was great. I would like to meet you with a cup of coffee every morning... to get some inside scoop of twig eaters....
I am totally loving your blog. You are too funny.
And I thought deer in the backyard was bad. But moose.... wow.
Congrats on your SITS day. I like your blog and would like to come back again.
Hi, I'm here from SITS and so excited to have found you. Alaska has a special place in my heart ( I lived in Petersburg with my sister for 3 months last year and loved it) I also have a friend who is from Homer Alaska, so I'm sure finding your blog is meant to be.
Happy SITS day! I love your sprinkler. I have a little one with wild hair too.
Congratulations on your SITs feature! I hope you are enjoying your day in the sun:-)
Happy SITS day! I love your blog so far, can't wait to poke around.
Love your sense of humor. Happy SITS Day! Enjoy!
Happy SITS Day! I can't believe you don't have cable! Um, what does that say about me? With everything else that you posted? And I really don't watch tv often...hmmm...
anyway, Alaska is beautiful, but I'm a FL girl and I freak out when it gets below 70...
Love your intro!! And love your wild haired babies...you can keep the moose though.
I've decided (and declared on SITS) that you are my new BFF.
I want to be president of your walking dead legion of readers.
I've always wanted to visit Alaska. There's no cable though. I don't know if I can part with Food Network.
I know, I know. Sad.
Happy SITS day!!
So fun to read see your pics and kids. I am a mom of 4 boys and my sister is the mom of 2 boys!! My oldest made a visit to Alaska with his grandparents (his choice which was pretty cute) and LOVED it. I hope to make it your way some day:-)
Happy SITS day!!
Kim, congrats on your SITS day! I think my favorite thing ever is seeing that the featured bloggers for SITS is someone that I already read. It makes me popular in some weird way.
Visiting from SITS! Congrats on your day! I'm also a mother to all girls - two of which are twins. :-) You are already making me laugh which is a nice bonus to my reading time. Looking forward to future visits!
=] Love it Kim! =] Love all the pictures! =]

I am subscribing right this minute. I ADORE your blog and your sense of humor and your kids and even the moose. :)
Yay! I'm so excited that it's your SITS Day! Savor it, but don't let the local moose population find out they have a following - they'll expect a photo shoot every time they wander through the back yard ;)
I could live with the no cable thing, but only if I was able to get Netflix. You DO get Netflix, right???
Visiting from SITS! What a wonderful blog and beautiful kids and landscapes...I can't wait to read more each day!
Well I missed your initial post! Caught your other ones (the head butting volleyball move is awesome). I like your writing style, I really do! Please don't go out into a snowbank and die - I'll be here to read every time you post, really!!
Happy SITS Day! Who needs a tv anyway with such beautiful views and fun children to hang out with!
HAPPY HAPPY DAY! what a beautiful countryside! I love the MOOSE! so cute. im sure not so cute for you, but SOOOO CUTE!

Stopping by from SITS! Adorable blog, if you don't mind I am just going to wander around your blog for a while!
Enjoy your feature day!
HAPPY, HAPPY SITS DAY! Your photos are amazing. I've never been to Alaska so I am looking forward to getting a piece of it through your site. Cheers!
Love it! Once again, happy SITS day! :)
I was so excited to see an Alaskan featured!! I was born and raised in the great state, but moved away after highschool.
I was born in Anchorage then moved to Big Lake when I was 10!
I miss it so much (except the winters)! Happy SITS day!
Congrats on being FB on SITS. I absolutely love you photos.
Visiting from SITS. You seem like you have a great sense of humor, which I love in a blog. Congrats!
Congrats on your SITS Day! You are very funny and I love to see slices of life that are different from mine. I live in Canada and I look at your photos thinking they should be the same as mine but I live in the burbs so we only get raccoons on the deck LOL!
Wow! I SO had to laugh at that last "bad hair day" pic! She will love you when she gets older. Although I believe I have one that will beat that of my youngest daughter. tee hee
Alaska is so beautiful... I've always wanted to travel there. You take gorgeous photos too... and you have a lovely family!
Stopping by from SITS Girls.. congrats on being featured! Oh, and I'm following you now too! :)

Happy SITS Day! Great take on your SITS Day post and I love your perspective on twins... I can get cable, but I don't have it...well I do have channels 2-20, but that's it!
Hilarious. You are just too funny. I'm signing up for sure. Happy SITS Day. I did feel very welcomed so I will be back.

Ha ha, this is great! Love the photos. Visiting from SITS.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy SITS Day! Your photos are gorgeous.
Oh I love your photos! Especially the moose! My daughter loves moose. We searched and searched for one in the Canadian Rockies but I guess we'll have to head up your way to meet one in person :-)
Here's a food blogger from Alaska that I met at a conference last October. Super great person - maybe you want to check her blog out -http://heywhatsfordinnermom.blogspot.com/
Looking forward to wandering around some more. Hope you're having a great day!
Your photographs are just stunning! And my father was a photographer, so I have an "eye" and know what I'm talking about! I am enjoying your blog - our lives are SO different!(I'm over here from SITS)

Visit my other blog: www.theblogforbrides.com
Your photos are gorgeous, that one with the moose walking by the window is awesome! And your sense of humor is so up my alley. Can't wait to read through the rest of your blog. :)
Happy SITS day! I just moved down south from Valdez, so the pictures made me a bit homesick.
I'm a new follower visiting from SITS. Congrats on the feature! What an amazing experience to live in Alaska. It's nice to meet you!
Wife on the Roller Coaster
Stopping by from SITS! Love your blog! I'm going to poke around!
You are funny so I "followed" you.
Visiting from SITS! Daisy is adorable, Tie-Dye is downright scary, and your girls are lovely. I totally envy you for living in such a beautiful place! = )
Love you pictures! Your cat looks like she could handle one of those moose! There's nothing like wildlife tromping through your yard to give you something to talk about! We had a huge gaggle of turkeys that did the turkey walk through our yard for about a month. Right before Thanksgiving. Then they disappeared:)
Congrats on your SITS day!
A trip to Alaska is on my bucket list. Your photos are gorgeous. I'm adding you to my reader. Can't wait to look around a little more. Happy SITS Day.
Stopping by from SITS...love your intro for all of us...beautiful family and wildlife!
Okay so I will be your 106th commenter! My word! Way to go SITS girls!
Your little girls are ADORABLE! My little girl is 26 now! I also have three boys and I love them dearly but I do miss having a little girl around. I keep telling my daughter she must have me some girls!
We get lots of wildlife around here too: possums (one that use to come by was the size of a Rottweiler), raccoons, armadillos and foxes, just to name a few.
But it sure does sound nice up there! I just couldn't do the long winter. It's gotten hard enough to tolerate the winters here in Tallahassee (and it does get cold here!) When my kids are grown I am moving to the beach! You're welcome to join me!
Happy SITS Day! I love your post for today. You have some gorgeous children and gorgeous surroundings which you capture beautifully. :)
I hope you had a great SITS day!
Congrats on your SITS day! I love your photos. Off to poke around at some other posts...
Wow! Gorgeous photos. I love it. Happy SITS feature. Will follow you!
Stopping by via SITS. Congratulations on being featured. I love all of your photographs too- especially the crazy haired child one. I can so relate.
Wow! It looks like you don't know what a 'dull moment' is. I'd love to visit Alaska. Looks beautiful. Happy SITS Day!
What??!! It's your SITS day?! I had no idea (I'm guilty of not visiting the site as often as I used to)!
So excited to see you be in the spotlight!!! I cannot get over the pic of the moose running through your backyard with the girls peering out the window. We just don't see that here in CA!!!
Congratulations on your SITS day!
I came from SITS and I shall stay - your photos are AMAZING - what a beautiful part of the world you live in, and what glorious daughters you have!
Far be it for me to let that happen. LOVE your blog! :o)
Those moose babies are laughing at you...
Goodness. That is a lot of pressure. I will be coming back because I love pictures of wildlife and crazy-haired little girls.
What a beautiful place.
And I love your John Deere sprinkler. I want one.
Happy belated SITS day.
I am lovin the vibe of all the "wild" things in your life, so glorious and wonderful in the every day glory kind of way - happy SITS day to you sweet bella, it will be a sheer pleasure taking a stroll through your world and all of the beauty within....
Hurray for your SITS day. I'm a day late and more than a dollar short. That was a crazy shot of the moose walking by the window! Your cat looks like it just ate a mouse. I will try to remember to come back because if your snow banks are as high as ours, you'd die out there and no one would find you until July!
Happy SITS Day, Kim! Sorry I'm late to the party!
I'm pretty sure I will live in Alaska some day. If only for a little while. It's just too beautiful to stay away from.
HI! Belated Happy SITS Day. Yeah, I know I'm behind. Not enough hours some days.
I've always thought that Alaska was beautiful (great photos) but I never want to go there. I'm a real suck when it comes to cold.
I'll stay down south in Vancouver thanks very much.
Happy SITS day! I'm so happy for you. Sorry to be so late but I'm extremely behind in my blog reading.
