I'm Not a Real Blogger, But I Play One on the Internet

I will now re-enact my response to finding out that I am today’s featured blogger at SITS (The Secret to Success is Support).

AAAAAAGH!
Visitors are coming! Hurry up!
Clean the family room! Wash your faces! They’ll be here any second . . .

Sure, Mom. We'll get right on it.

Hello, my dear SITStas. Won’t you come in? Welcome to my blog.
My name is Kim, and I'd like to introduce you to
my four savages lovely and refined daughters.

This girl is 12 and plays competitive soccer, . . .

this kid is 10 and won't stay out of trees, . . .

and these chuckleheads are 4 years old.
Cable TV is unavailable where we live,
so a pair of identical twins comes in handy when we need to be entertained.

We reside in Alaska, . . .

along with our beagle, Daisy, . . .

our mouse-murdering cat, Tie-Dye, . . .

and the many moose that run through our back yard. Git! Shoo! No, not you, gentle readers. I was yelling at the moose. Don't let their cute babies fool you.

Git out of here, you skinny-legged twig eater!

I don’t know how to describe my blog, other than to say that I write a little of this and that, and post lots of pictures of . . .

Wildlife, . . .

. . . wildflowers . . .

Thanks for stopping by. If you don't come back again real soon, I could get so lonely I might wander out into a snowbank and die. And it would be all your fault.

p.s. My spell checker disagrees with my plural of moose. What is the plural of moose?

  99. Love you pictures! Your cat looks like she could handle one of those moose! There's nothing like wildlife tromping through your yard to give you something to talk about! We had a huge gaggle of turkeys that did the turkey walk through our yard for about a month. Right before Thanksgiving. Then they disappeared:)

    Congrats on your SITS day!

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  102. Okay so I will be your 106th commenter! My word! Way to go SITS girls!

Your little girls are ADORABLE! My little girl is 26 now! I also have three boys and I love them dearly but I do miss having a little girl around. I keep telling my daughter she must have me some girls!

We get lots of wildlife around here too: possums (one that use to come by was the size of a Rottweiler), raccoons, armadillos and foxes, just to name a few.

But it sure does sound nice up there! I just couldn't do the long winter. It's gotten hard enough to tolerate the winters here in Tallahassee (and it does get cold here!) When my kids are grown I am moving to the beach! You're welcome to join me!

    ReplyDelete

So excited to see you be in the spotlight!!! I cannot get over the pic of the moose running through your backyard with the girls peering out the window. We just don't see that here in CA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  114. Hurray for your SITS day. I'm a day late and more than a dollar short. That was a crazy shot of the moose walking by the window! Your cat looks like it just ate a mouse. I will try to remember to come back because if your snow banks are as high as ours, you'd die out there and no one would find you until July!

  115. Happy SITS Day, Kim! Sorry I'm late to the party!

I'm pretty sure I will live in Alaska some day. If only for a little while. It's just too beautiful to stay away from.

  116. HI! Belated Happy SITS Day. Yeah, I know I'm behind. Not enough hours some days.

I've always thought that Alaska was beautiful (great photos) but I never want to go there. I'm a real suck when it comes to cold.

I'll stay down south in Vancouver thanks very much.
