Changing of the Seasons

Autumn is rapidly being replaced by winter, but those are not the changing seasons that affect my daughter. She plays volleyball, and her team's final game takes place exactly one week from today. Yay! She'll finally get to hang out around the house and take it easy.

No more daily practices . . . no more weekend tournaments . . . no more returning home at 10:00 on a school night after a road trip . . .

until basketball season starts in a few weeks.

Dinner last night: barbecue salmon, rice, corn

Son #1 went to a very small high school and was required to participate in a sport or other activity each trimester...which roughly coincided with the three sports seasons. I STILL divide up the school year by which sports are being played.

My great-niece plays volleyball in Florida and I know it's ending soon also. It seems like a short season to me. Enjoy the free time for now.

They say busy teens are more organized in general and therefore get better grades in school. I found this to be true with my children and I'm wondering if you see the same.
