Don't Touch Mama's Clogs

You've probably heard the saying, "as comfortable as an old pair of shoes." I don't think I truly understood that expression until the other day when I was putting away my clogs for the winter. My snow boots just won't provide the same ease and comfort as these bad boys.

These are my oldest shoes. How old are they? Let's just say that I stole them from my mother's closet at some point in my late teens. So they're a good five years old.

I bought my daughter some clogs last Christmas . . .

. . . but she prefers her Crocs.

She's young. In time, she'll come to understand the superiority of a quality wooden shoe over a rubber slip-on. And when that time comes . . .

She'd better stay out of my closet.

Dinner last night: tacos

Whoa. Talk about flashback. As soon as I saw "clogs" in your post title, I was taken back to 1985 or so...

My mom practically lived in her brown clogs that matched perfectly with her brown shawl.

Although she says she's long gone gotten rid of both the clogs and shawl, I'm pretty sure she has her clogs tucked away somewhere!

Oh, those pink clogs are adorable. I bought some Hanna Andersson clogs for my Penelope, purple with flowers on them. Cost more than that month's house payment. LOL. She had to be forced to wear them, until just about the time she was almost out of them, she suddenly liked them. Sigh. So she wore them about a month then outgrew them.
I want to buy some nice ones for me! But for now I live in Crocs, both real and cheapo ones. I have about five pair!

I don't want anyone to get the idea that I don't like Crocs. I'm going to let you in on a little secret. I've developed my own litmus test for determining if you're a real Alaskan: Do you own at least two pairs of Crocs? If yes, you are a real Alaskan. If not? Get out of my sight ; )

My oldest daughter's Christmas wish is for a light pink pair of Crocs with fleece liners so she can wear them in winter.

I live in clogs most of the time because they are so comfortable. The rest of this household thinks the same way. If you want to see cute clogs, get them in european size 24!
I have a few pair and one that dates back to 1981 and I bought them myself - didn't look in my mother's closet for them.
Mine don't get put away for the winter. If the snow comes to the line on the heel, I wear the closed back ones. If the snow comes to the top of the sole, THEN I find the boots!

Those look very comfy. I like shoes that I don't have to tie.

I admit that I don't own a pair. I, know, GASP! It's not because I don't want some, I just never get out of the house to actually go shopping.

Maybe Santa will bring me a pair...
